The Student Sustainability Center

The Student Sustainability Center, housed in Colorado State University’s School of Global Environmental Sustainability, is a student-run and collaborative club and resource center for students on campus. Working with the SSC, I was in charge of photographing and preparing content for social media and publicity.

The Annual Potting Event

Typically the Sustainability Center’s biggest event of the year, the Annual Potting Event invites students to grab a free plant, learn about majors and minors in sustainability, and network about getting involved in ongoing projects.

Collaborative Events

Events in collaboration with other groups on campus are a cornerstone of the Sustainability Center’s Work. Among these events are discussion panels, tabling events, and so on.

Bi-Weekly Club Meetings

Club meetings created a sense of community among the Sustainability Center, as students and officers met twice a month on Mondays at 5 p.m. to connect and collaborate on sustainability, fostering an encouraging and innovative space where students can share ideas and experiences. Sometimes, a guest speaker was invited, such as Fort Collins Utilities, to present at these meetings.

Community Clean-Ups

Community Clean-Ups allow people to get their hands dirty and take action by cleaning a local park. I loved capturing as people went above and beyond to leave the park better than it was before.
