About Me

My story.

I’m a freelance photographer, writer, videographer and digital creator. I love embarking on adventures and fueling my creativity while at it. I strive to make you feel like a part of the adventure! There are so many incredible stories out there, and I want to tell them all.

I adore being outside, regardless of where I am. I’m especially drawn to mountains because they offer a place of solace when I need to remember to breathe. I feel at home in the mountains. Travel is so special to me. Seeing and experiencing the world, not just places but the people and culture that make a place unique, is very important to me. I approach each travel destination with an open mind, open heart, and the goal of telling a story that needs and deserves to be heard.

I became interested in photography by watching my mom. She purchased her professional camera and brought it along on a family trip to Maui, Hawaii. She took the camera everywhere, climbing on slippery, black rocks sprayed with ocean water and crouching on the sandy beaches during sunsets to capture the perfect moment. Those photos hang in my childhood home today, and I hope my photos will hang in homes someday, too.

After that trip, I began borrowing my mom’s camera to take my own photos. I thought it was incredible that I could suspend moments in time. I ventured around my neighborhood and photographed everything I could, from dewy morning grass to the sun setting behind the pine trees to flowers blooming in my backyard. In fact, I borrowed the camera so much that my mom eventually gave it to me - I still use that camera today.

In high school, I became interested in journalism, especially journalistic writing and lifestyle photography. I joined my high school yearbook staff, newspaper staff, and UIL journalism team, and I loved it all. As a senior, I started taking portraits. Friends would always model for me, and I loved watching their faces light up when I showed them the photos.

After high school, I packed up and moved from Texas to Colorado, where I continued to pursue journalism in college. My photography was pushed aside as I pursued news writing and reporting. However, I finished my first year of college feeling like I was meant for something more niche than news reporting…somehow, I wanted to tell unique stories about the deeper connections between humans and their environments.

As I entered my second year of college, photography was still at the back of my mind. So, I took a photojournalism course, where I learned so much about photography and remembered how much I loved it. Taking the course and connecting with fellow photographers encouraged me to pursue photojournalism and push my fears aside.

So here I am, ready to visually tell your beautiful stories. As I embark on the grand adventure that is my life, I am more than excited to share my journey and connect with you all.
