About Me

Samantha “Sam” Nordstrom is a fearless, award-winning photojournalist whose work aims to inspire a sense of adventure, curiosity, and cultural understanding among her audiences. Seeking to inspire someone to venture beyond their perspective and experience the world differently, Sam approaches each story with an open mind, open heart, and the goal of amplifying a voice that needs and deserves to be heard regardless of where she is.

Sam’s work has been published by The Rocky Mountain Collegian, College Avenue Magazine, Best of CSU 2024, the Museum of Art Fort Collins, the Green Bulletin blog, and Culturs Magazine, receiving accolades from the Society for Professional Journalists and the Colorado Press Association for her work in College Avenue Magazine. While studying abroad with Semester at Sea in January-April 2023, Sam sailed to eleven different countries and documented a variety of written content, photographs, and visual content documenting her experience.

As someone who grew up obsessed with stories, she feels gratified to have found a niche that fuels her passions for creative thinking and learning. She has come to appreciate the power of a narrative and how people can communicate and emotionally connect with others they’ve never met. There are so many incredible stories out there, and she wants to share them all, making her audience feel like a part of the adventure.
